  • Welcome to Our Glass Shop

    We offer glassing services to Shapers in San Diego. Our menu of services we specialize in include: Tints and opaques, cutlaps, glass on fins, most fin system installations, Acrylic and gloss/ polish finishes, airspray color and pinlines.
    Custom Surf Glass is managed by Eric and Debbie Gordon of Gordon & Smith Surfboards. We have a long history of quality and innovations in board building in our back ground and experience.

     

    Meet our Craftsmen

  • Glen Hoffman- Lamination

    Glenn has over 40 years of experience in board building. Currently he is our lamination specialist who pulls off incredible color creations with resin tints and opaques with flawless cutlaps. He started his career in board building while working at the original Gordon & Smith state of the art glassing faclity in the 70's.

  • Tom Curtiss- Airspray, Pinlines & Gloss

    Tom started doing color for Bing Surfboards in the early 70's and when Gordon & Smith aquired the license and started making Bing surfboards in San Diego, Tom came to work at the Gaines Street Factory. As a Master of Color, his specialty is Pinlines and Airbrush color but not limited to resin panels and foam stains and skilled glossing.

  • Ryan Matyas- Sander

    Ryan started sanding 22 years ago and has been at the shop most of his career. Incredibly talented and not afraid of anything. He is a machine!

     

  • Blake Tremble-Hotcoater & Lamination

    Blake is a multi tasker who Hot Coats, laminates, glasses on Fins, builds resin loops and shapes on the side. He is an Important part of the team.

     

  • Aaron Francisco-Fin Systems

    Aaron is our Hardware and Fin systems installer. He can install at any specified degree within reason and glasses on Fins.

     

  • Alfredo Morrett - Polisher

    Alfredo has 20 plus year experience polishing and has incredible attention to detail that yeilds a mirror shine on all of his polishes.

     

  • Chris Darby - Polisher

    Chris has been involved in Board building for years. He is an accomplished shaper and currently is our back up polisher and fin laminator.
